A two-minute silent vigil is set to be held this evening (June 23) in memory of the former Mayor of Glatonbury, Denise Michell, who has passed away.

David MacGeogh will lead the vigil this evening at the Market Cross in memory of the town councillor, who was affectionately known as Denny.

This will take place at 7pm. If attending, people are asked to maintain a social distance of two metres from others.

Yesterday, the current Mayor of Glastonbury, Jon Cousins, paid tribute to his friend, saying Denny was "an incredible person who loved Glastonbury to the core of her being and did so much for our community".
