Two fighting for life after horror crash near Glastonbury as police issue urgent witness appeal

Two people are in a life-threatening condition after a serious crash on a rural road near Glastonbury – and police are urgently appealing for witnesses.
The incident happened just before 10am on Thursday morning (29 May) on the B3151 Meare Road, when a pedestrian was hit by a motorbike after getting out of a tractor.
Police say the pedestrian had exited a stationary green and yellow John Deere tractor, which was towing a trailer, when they were struck by a green Kawasaki ZX Ninja motorcycle travelling towards Glastonbury.
Both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian suffered critical injuries and remain in a life-threatening condition. Their families have been informed.
The road was shut for almost 11 hours while crash investigators examined the scene. It reopened at around 8.20pm on Thursday evening.
Now police are asking anyone who saw what happened – or who may have dashcam footage of the crash or the vehicles involved – to come forward immediately.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're particularly keen to hear from any witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage showing the collision or the vehicles involved prior to the collision."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote reference 5225149275.
