It was tractors, tinsel and tooting horns as the Wells and Glastonbury YFC Tractor Run roared through Somerset on Sunday (21 December).
A jaw-dropping 154 vehicles — from tractors and 4x4s to towering lorries — rolled out of Worthy Farm in Pilton at 4.30pm, decked in fairy lights, Santas and snowmen.
Thousands lined the streets in Shepton Mallet, Croscombe, Wells, Coxley, Glastonbury and West Pennard, cheering on the illuminated convoy and calling for festive blasts on the horns.
The annual run, organised by Wells & Glastonbury Young Farmers Club, raised cash for St Margaret's Hospice and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Drivers paid £10 per vehicle and £5 per passenger, with all money taken on the day — cash only.
Hot food and drinks were served up by Denela's Bakery, and organisers handed out prizes for the best dressed drivers and flashiest vehicles.
Now a firm festive favourite, the event mixed countryside pride with Christmas sparkle — and plenty of diesel-powered cheer.
