Three connecting roads in Glastonbury are set to be closed today (January 29) and tomorrow while urgent cable works take place.

Ashwell Lane, Basketfield Lane and Gipsy Lane are shut until 3.30pm today and from 9.30am to 3.30pm tomorrow for the works.

The closures are required for Sunbelt Rentals to carry out cable renewal works on behalf of BT Openreach to restore a customer service.

All three roads are closed for their entire length, though access will be allowed for residents and business.

The official diversion takes motorists along Wellhouse Lane, the A361 and Wick Lane.

Meanwhile, the nearby Cinnamon Lane remains closed until February 12 so Bristol Water can replace a water main.
