Thousands of people flocked to Glastonbury Abbey for the Summer Open Day

More than 6,000 people visited Glastonbury Abbey on Saturday (May 28) for the summer open day.

As well as exploring the abbey ruins and 36-acre grounds, visitors were able to try their hand at a range of activities, including axe throwing, have browse around an array of stalls selling gifts, food and drink and enjoy live music.

Head of Commercial Activity at Glastonbury Abbey, Brad Lister, said, "We are delighted with the turnout for our Summer Open Day on Saturday. More than 6,000 people enjoyed the glorious weather, activities and entertainment throughout the day with the abbey grounds and ruins a wonderful setting. We look forward to everyone visiting us again."
