A new ice rink suitable for the whole family is now open for the festive season at Clarks Village in Street.

Featuring real ice, the 550-metre2 undercover ice-skating rink offers guests a magical and memorable experience to celebrate the festive season and is open until Monday January 2.

The shopping centre invited along VIP guests - as well as some ice-skating pros - to try it out last week.

So far, the rink has proven to be popular with shoppers and local residents alike.

Guests can enjoy 2-4-1 sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays until December 8, with ice discos held on Friday evenings. There will also be sessions for parents and toddlers, school and group visits along with dedicated quiet times and the ice rink is wheelchair accessible.

Chris Davis, Centre Director of Clarks Village, said: "We have been incredibly busy behind the scenes at Clarks Village preparing to unveil a very special Christmas for our guests. At the heart of the celebrations is our inaugural ice-skating rink which is looking spectacular. It's created a real buzz and we can't wait for our guests to experience it for themselves."

Off-peak tickets for a 45-minute session are priced from £10.50 for children under 12, £12.50 for adults and from £40 for a family of four. Skate hire is included in the ticket price and skating aids are available to hire for £5 each. Guests are being urged to book now to avoid disappointment.
