Fire crews from Glastonbury and Cheddar helped free this lovely bird, which had found himself trapped.
Terry the Tawny owl was stuck in a chimney at a property in Stone Allerton who first called out the RSPCA.
Fire Control then received a call from the animal handlers requesting their assistance yesterday (May 2).
It was mid morning when the animal rescue team were called out to reports of the owl trapped, but in order to find his precise location they needed the specialised help of fire cameras.
A crew from Cheddar was first to be called out, but when they had assessed the situation they needed a specialised flexi camera to help with the rescue. The rescue tender was mobilised from Glastonbury with this piece of equipment on board.
Crews used a 13 metre ladder, a roof ladder, safety at height equipment, small tools and chimney rods to try and rescue the owl. The flexi camera was used to guide the equipment and Terry the Tawny owl was located trapped behind the flue.
He was checked over by the RSPCA and was safely sent on his way.
