Street Parish Council seeks a Youth Cadet for May 2025-2026, open to ages 14-18 with Street ties.

Young people in Street are being given the chance to step up and make a difference — with Street Parish Council now on the lookout for its next Youth Cadet.

The role, which runs from May 2025 to May 2026, will see one local teenager help support the council's duties and take part in civic events across the village.

It's open to anyone aged 14 to 18 with a strong connection to Street — and council bosses are keen to hear from anyone passionate about getting involved in local life.

The council's Community Engagement Officer, said it was a great opportunity to gain volunteering experience and give something back to the community.

She said: "If you're proud of where you live and want to get involved in making a difference, we'd love to hear from you."

The Youth Cadet will support council events, attend civic duties, and act as a representative for young people in the village — all while learning valuable skills along the way.

Applications are open now — and anyone interested is encouraged to get in touch for an informal chat.

To apply, email [email protected] or call 01458 440588. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Monday 21st April 2025.
