Street Parish Council has officially introduced its new Chair and Vice Chair, signifying a new era of local governance for the community.

Councillor Knickerbocker, now Chair of the Council, is a dedicated public servant with a record of substantial contributions to the Street community. His experience and leadership are expected to guide the Council's decision-making processes, ensuring the needs of the Street residents are met effectively.
Councillor Swift, the newly elected Vice Chair, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to local service. Her role will include supporting the Chair in their duties and stepping in when necessary.
As they take on these new roles, Councillor Knickerbocker and Councillor Swift pledge to dedicate themselves to the welfare and progress of Street, fostering growth, sustainability, and unity within the town.
Councillor Knickbocker takes over the role from outgoing chair Laura Wolfers, who said: "It has been an absolute honour and an amazing experience to have had the role for two years serving Street as Chair of the Parish Council.
"Thank you to my partner Luke who has been my consort and has wholeheartedly supported me. The council has worked very hard over the last two years and now that Somerset are a unitary council we are working on our priorities for the next four years.
"Huge thank you to Zoe our acting Clerk & Danielle acting Deputy Clerk for all your support. The investiture on Thursday was a great event and congratulations to all the very worthy community award winners and thank you to all who took part."
