Street FC asks families to help protect closed pitch
By Laura Linham 8th Apr 2026
Street Football Club has issued a warning to parents and carers after reports that teenagers have been getting into the club grounds while it is closed to play on the youth pitch.
The club said balls had been kicked from the pitch into neighbouring gardens, with players then trying to retrieve them by climbing fences. It said neighbours had reported entry was being gained by climbing the fence on Goss Drive.
In a public message, the club asked families to help spread the word that no-one is allowed to enter the ground or use the pitches without prior permission.
Street FC said it keeps the site secure throughout the season so ground staff can maintain the pitches and ensure fixtures can be played. It added that end-of-season maintenance will soon begin and that unsafe chemicals will be applied to the pitches.
The club also pointed people towards the football goals at Goss Drive Park, which it said had recently been restored by the parish council.
Street FC thanked residents, parents and carers for their understanding and support as it tries to protect the pitches and avoid further problems for neighbours living nearby.
