Finding The Best Restaurants in Street, Somerset: My 2 Recent Picks

The Loft in Street, Somerset

Recently, I had the pleasure of revisiting The Loft in Street, Somerset, to celebrate my Mum's birthday. It's a personal favourite of mine, and this visit only deepened my appreciation for this delightful restaurant.

I opted for The Loft Burger as my main course, their renowned house speciality. This mouthwatering creation includes two 6oz beef patties, crispy bacon, a golden onion ring, tangy BBQ sauce, and a runny cheese sauce. Each bite was a burst of flavours, confirming why The Loft Burger stands out on their menu.

Dessert was equally delightful with The Loft's Daily Cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

The Loft, originally built in 1920 as a cinema, has been a beloved entertainment venue for Street residents. It was reopened as a family-friendly restaurant in November 2021.

Mark Tobin, the current owner, is committed to preserving the venue's heritage while offering something unique to the community. His vision has transformed The Loft into a welcoming space that caters to all ages and remains at the heart of the community.

My recent visit reaffirmed The Loft as one of my favourite dining spots, thanks to its delicious food, cosy atmosphere, and dedication to the community.

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a meal out, The Loft promises a memorable and heartwarming experience.

You can view The Loft's new Summer menu here, which is available from Wednesday 3rd July 2024.

I would recommend parking in either Cranhill Car Park or Southside Car Park.

Bull & Bar in Street, Somerset

Bull & Bar in Street delivers on its promises with local smoked meats, their renowned "Filthiest Fries in Street," and a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere.

I visited Bull & Bar for lunch on a Friday with my brother, Ben. Despite not having a reservation, we were promptly seated upon arrival and warmly greeted by the enthusiastic staff.

Ben opted for the Tender Tray, featuring chicken tenders coated in their signature "No. 60" BBQ sauce (a nod to their address), served with fries, corn on the cob, pickles, and slaw. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the Bull Burger, boasting a juicy, locally sourced patty topped with streaky bacon, an onion ring, and their secret "dirty mayo" for an extra punch of flavour.

You can peruse their full menu on their website, including options from their children's menu. For locals or visitors passing through Street, Bull & Bar also offers convenient delivery and takeaway services.

Beyond their delicious offerings, Bull & Bar is conveniently located near Clarks Village with ample parking nearby, particularly in Cranhill car park at the top of the high street.

Bull & Bar is a must-visit. With a passionate team dedicated to using local ingredients to craft uniquely flavourful dishes, I look forward to returning soon—and I highly recommend you experience this restaurant too!
