The festive season is in full swing in Street and Glastonbury, with a packed weekend of events to enjoy.

Whether you're heading to Glastonbury's iconic Frost Fayre for live music, markets, and the Christmas Tree lights switch-on or looking for entertainment in Street, there's something to make everyone's weekend sparkle.

Shepton Mallet starts the weekend on a high note with The Breathe Ensemble Presents: An Evening of Piano Trios on Friday, 29th November. Taking place at the Methodist Chapel in Pilton, this classical music performance will feature Beethoven's 'Ghost' Trio alongside works by Ravel, Pärt, and Dvořák. Guests can enjoy a coffee before the performance and meet the musicians afterward at The Crown. Discover more about the event here.

For those looking for something a little more fabulous, the Bath & West Showground is hosting An Evening with Danny Beard on Friday night. Hosted by Alex Ambiguous, this event features comedy, runway fun, and a performance from Danny Beard, winner of RuPaul's Drag Race 2022. Tickets include a meet-and-greet with both performers, making it a must-attend for fans of drag and glamour. Find event details and ticket information here.

Shepton Mallet will also come alive on Friday evening with its Christmas Lights Switch-On. Running from 5 pm to 8 pm, the event features live music, a bustling night market, family-friendly activities, and a new Christmas tree and light display. The lights will be switched on at 7 pm by the winner of the town's Christmas Card Competition. Learn more about the switch-on here.

Over in Wells, music lovers can enjoy Supersonic Queen at Studio24 on Friday night. This energetic Queen tribute band promises all the hits, from We Will Rock You to Bohemian Rhapsody. Check out the full event details here.

For a more traditional festive experience, head to Wells Town Hall on Saturday for the Christmas Bazaar. Running from 9:30 am to 3 pm, the bazaar features jewellery, crafts, books, and a grand raffle with a £500 prize. Read more about the Christmas Bazaar here.

On Saturday evening, Handel's Messiah will be performed at St Cuthbert's Church in Wells. With a stunning line-up of soloists and the Somerset Choral Society, this promises to be a breathtaking musical event. Find tickets and event details here.
