A one-of-a-kind supper club designed for SEND families is returning to The Loft in Street on 4 November, promising a relaxed, fully inclusive evening for parents and children — with demand already high.

The SEND Supper Club, run exclusively for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities, will see The Loft close its doors to the public and transform into a no-judgement space where children are free to stim, shout or simply be themselves.

Noise is welcome. Tablets are fine. Meltdowns don't turn heads — they're understood.

Owner Mark Tobin said the event was created in response to conversations with local parents who felt traditional dining wasn't accessible for their families.

"So many families with SEND children tell us they've stopped going out altogether," he said. "This evening is about removing that pressure — stimming is welcome, noise is fine, and nobody has to explain or apologise."

The event includes a soft play area provided by Mendip Bouncy Castles and a separate chill-out space for children who need a sensory break. Older children are encouraged to bring what helps them feel comfortable — from fidget toys to noise-cancelling headphones.

For those who struggle with waiting, food can be pre-ordered in advance and served on arrival. Children's meals cost £5 for two courses (main and ice cream), with adults ordering from the standard menu.

Bookings are not available online. Families must contact The Loft directly to reserve their table and confirm their booking is for a SEND household.

To book, email [email protected], call 01458 446885, or message The Loft via social media.
