Glastonbury Abbey's summer theatre season is set to return, with a series of open-air performances staged against the backdrop of the historic ruins.

The programme features productions from The Lord Chamberlain's Men, Illyria, and Horrible Histories, bringing Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and classic children's stories to life.

Kicking off the season on Wednesday, 4 June, The Lord Chamberlain's Men will present Twelfth Night, performed in the traditional Elizabethan style with an all-male cast. Tickets cost £18 (£20 in person) for adults and £12 (£14 in person) for children.

Illyria follows on Saturday, 21 June, with Pride & Prejudice, marking Jane Austen's 250th birthday. Audiences are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the classic tale of love and social expectation. Tickets are £20 (£22 in person) for adults and £10 (£12 in person) for children.

On Thursday, 24 July, Gorgeous Georgians & Vile Victorians from Horrible Histories will take audiences on a journey through Britain's past, with all the gruesome details left in. Tickets cost £20 (£22 in person) for adults and £15 (£18 in person) for children.

Bringing the season to a close on Wednesday, 13 August, Illyria returns with The Wind in the Willows. Kenneth Grahame's classic story of adventure and friendship will be performed in the abbey grounds. Tickets are priced at £18 (£20 in person) for adults and £10 (£12 in person) for children.

Tickets for all performances are now on sale.
