Strode College wins CyberFirst Silver Award and hosts top industry event

Strode College has been recognised for its commitment to cybersecurity education, earning the prestigious CyberFirst Silver Award from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
The accolade highlights the college's dedication to providing high-quality training and industry connections for students looking to enter the rapidly growing cyber sector.
The announcement was made during CyberCon, an event hosted by Strode's T Level students, which brought together industry experts, cybersecurity professionals, and students keen to explore careers in the field.

The event featured a keynote speech from Digital Defend Me, alongside contributions from major industry players, including Sophos, Juberi/Cetstat, SuSE, NatWest Bank, Open Cast, and Avon and Somerset Police.
Students were able to engage in interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, gaining first-hand insights into career pathways in cybersecurity. One of the key benefits for students pursuing a cyber-related degree after Strode is eligibility for the CyberFirst bursary, which offers £4,000 per year of study.
Paul Taylor, IT Lecturer at Strode College, said: "We are thrilled to receive the CyberFirst Silver Award. This recognition reflects our commitment to developing the next generation of cyber professionals. CyberCon was a fantastic success, allowing students to connect with leading organisations and explore the opportunities in cybersecurity."
Strode College continues to expand its cybersecurity programmes, with events like CyberCon playing a vital role in preparing students for careers in the industry.
