Strode College in Street has unveiled plans for a major campus redevelopment and is inviting residents to shape the final design.

The project will replace ageing buildings at the Street site with a new teaching hub featuring classrooms, specialist learning spaces and community facilities including a public restaurant.

College leaders say the scheme is intended to serve students and the wider community of Street, Glastonbury and surrounding areas, and they want feedback before a planning application is submitted later this year.

The design aims to be near‑net‑zero, incorporating solar panels, heat pumps, natural ventilation and low‑energy systems. The plans also include new walkways, cycle access, outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and improved landscaping.

A college spokesperson said: "This development is more than just bricks and mortar. It's a long‑term commitment to the community, and we want local people to be part of shaping it. Their voices matter."

The consultation is now open and invites residents, parents, students and local businesses to complete a short online survey, view site plans, a project timeline and computer‑generated images of the new campus.

The planning application is expected to be submitted shortly.
