Seven products recalled by food producer in Edgarley because of undeclared mustard

By Tim Lethaby 16th Jul 2021

A food producer from Edgarley has had to recall seven of its products as they may contain mustard, which is not mentioned on the label.

S M Pickles is recalling the pickled products and vinegar mix because they are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

The Food Standards Agency says S M Pickles has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued point-of-sale notices to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought them.

The seven products being recalled are the following items, which have a best before of all dates up to and including October 19 2021:

S M Pickles Pickled Onions

S M Pickles Pickled Eggs

S M Pickles Pickled Shallots

S M Pickles Pickled Beetroot

S M Pickles Pickled Cabbage

S M Pickles Pickled Walnuts

S M Pickles Vinegar Mix

A spokesperson for the Food Standards Agency said: "If you have bought the above products and have an allergy to mustard, do not eat them.

"Instead return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund."
