The Glastonbury Festival event being staged in September has been confirmed as a one-day concert after planning approval was granted for the set-up and removal of the infrastructure on site.
A planning application for the approval of details reserved by conditions 5 (works of construction) on planning consent 2016/2238/VRC at Worthy Farm, Worthy Lane, Pilton, by Glastonbury Festival Events Ltd has been approved by Mendip District Council.
A two-day licence for a Glastonbury Festival event later this year was granted last month, after councillors took nearly a week to decide.
However, the build schedule approved as part of the latest application shows that Saturday September 18 will be show day with setting up the day before and dismantling of equipment the day afterwards.
The schedule shows that work will start on the Pyramid Stage on July 19, with the three-week stage build starting in earnest on August 9 and the perimeter fence work commencing on August 16.
Audio, lights, video and dressing room equipment are all scheduled to leave the site on Sunday September 19, with all infrastructure set to be removed by October 15.
Planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:
Erection of first-floor rear extension over existing ground floor footprint at The Old Smithy, High Street, Butleigh, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs J Forsey.
Conversion of store/garage into living space at 1 Rebels Way, Glastonbury, is wanted by Mr and Mrs M Tweed.
