A section of High Street will be temporarily closed from Monday to allow essential repairs to take place.

The closure begins 42 metres north-east of the junction with Vestry Road, extending north-eastwards for 69 metres.

It will be in effect from 21st to 23rd August 2023, and the closure is in place around the clock to allow Bristol Water to carry out supply separation work to ensure the continued reliability of our water supply.

Local authorities are planning diversionary routes, and proper signage will guide drivers around the affected area.

Access will still be maintained for residents and business owners within the restricted zone, and emergency services will operate as usual.

A spokesman for Bristol Water said: "Doing the work in the summer holidays gives us the best chance of completing this work safely and efficiently, but please plan ahead as there could be short-term disruption."

Access for residents and businesses in the immediate area will be maintained throughout and a diversion will be in place, with full details available on www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/roadworks-and-travel/
