Road Traffic Collision, Persons Trapped at M5 Northbound, Junctions 22 to 21
Date: 08.07.2019Time: 12:05Location: M5 Northbound, Junctions 22 to 21Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from Police reporting a road traffic collision at the above location.
Three fire appliances from Burnham on Sea and Bridgwater and Rescue Tender from Glastonbury were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that one vehicle towing a caravan had been involved in a road traffic collision, with two people trapped in the vehicle.
Crews quickly got to work to release the casualties using stabilising equipment, hydraulic cutting equipment and low pressure airbags.Two casualties were released from the vehicle and handed over to paramedics who were also on scene.
