Road Traffic Collision, Persons Trapped at Downside, Shepton Mallet

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from Avon & Somerset police reporting a road traffic collision at the above location.

Two fire appliances from Shepton Mallet and a rescue tender from Glastonbury were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed that a single vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision, with one male trapped beneath the vehicle.

Crews quickly got to work liaising with ambulance and using hydraulic cutting equipment to extricate the casualty.

Once removed from under the vehicle, the casualty was handed over to the care of paramedics.
