Retrospective planning application made for cafe at A361 West Pennard lay-by

A retrospective planning application has been made to Mendip District Council for the roadside cafe at the West Pennard lay-by.

The application for the portable building and timber structure covered area to be used as a roadside cafe (retrospective) on land at Stockbridge Lane to Steanbow, West Pennard, has been submitted by Brian Roper.

The Trace's Little T's cafe has been operating since last year in the lay-by on the A361 but this application has now been made to make it official and allow it to continue operating with planning permission.

One other planning application in the Glastonbury area has been submitted this week to Mendip District Council:

Works to trees in a Conservation Area Monterey Cypress (T1) - crown reduction by up to three metres at Berachah House, Wellhouse Lane, Glastonbury, have been applied for by Mr Tristan Herridge.

Planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been decided by Mendip District Council this week include:

Erection of two-storey extension to the rear and a single-storey west side extension at Myrtle House, Lower Godney, by Mr Sam Lee has been approved.

Erection of a single-storey and first-floor extension for the creation of an annexe at The Old Orchard, Scottles Lane, West Pennard, by Mr and Mrs C Hecks has been approved.

Change of use of land from agricultural to residential to facilitate new domestic vehicular access at Lilac Cottage, East Street Lane, West Pennard, by Mr J Turner has been approved.

Application for a proposed lawful development certificate for the erection of a brick outbuilding to be used for storage and as garden room, ancillary to the residential use at Landmead Farm, Northload Bridge, Glastonbury, by Mr James Dash has been refused.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 6 (surface water drainage) and 7 (foul drainage), on planning consent 2020/0515/FUL at Appledawn, Wick Lane, Wick, by RJ and SR Bunn has been refused.
