This Remembrance Sunday, 12th November 2023, the communities of Street and Glastonbury will be holding special events, parades and memorial services to honour those who have sacrificed their lives in World Wars and other military conflicts.

Starting in Glastonbury, the day's events start with a parade at 10.40am from Glastonbury Town Hall, moving towards St John's Church located on the High Street. At 11am an act of Remembrance, including the laying of poppy wreaths and playing of the Last Post will take place at the war memorial outside St John's Church, before a service takes place in the church.

After the Glastonbury Remembrance Service the procession will wind its way back to the town hall.

In Street, the Remembrance Parade will begin at 2pm - this is to allow people from Street and Glastonbury to attend Remembrance in both communities if they wish.

The starting point is the Royal British Legion on Farm Road. The Street Remembrance Parade will visit multiple memorial spots before concluding with a formal wreath-laying at Merriman Park.

Whether you're in Street or Glastonbury, these Remembrance Day 2023 events offer an important opportunity to pay tribute to our fallen heroes. Both towns are inviting residents to line the parade routes, attend the memorial services, and participate in this solemn occasion to remember and honour those who have given their lives in service to their country.
