Prezzo has addressed the concerns raised in a social media post circulating within community Facebook groups in Street and Glastonbury.

The post brought to light serious allegations involving a staff member at their Street branch in Clarks Village. It suggested that a former officer with Avon and Somerset Police - named in the post - was implicated in a sexual assault case featured in the television series "To Catch a Copper."

The officer featured in the program was found guilty of gross misconduct by the police review panel, but no further action was taken against him as he had already resigned from the police.

The social media post claimed the man was now employed at the Street branch of Prezzo, and raised concerns about interactions with his female colleagues at the branch.

Today, a Prezzo spokesperson said: "We are aware of the programme mentioned in the post and deeply concerned by its content.

"While we are unable to provide further details, we wish to confirm that the individual referenced is no longer associated with Prezzo."
