Avon and Somerset Police say they are investigating a fire in Glastonbury yesterday (August 3) in which a caravan was destroyed.

The police say the cause of the fire in The Roman Way is currently unexplained and they are appealing for help from anyone with information about it to get in touch with them.

The police were alerted to the blaze by the fire service yesterday evening at approximately 8.55pm. The incident was initially reported by a member of the public at around 8pm.

As well as the caravan, a van and a nearby tree caught fire, and water was pumped from the River Brue to help extinguish the blaze.

A police spokesperson said: "We'd ask anyone with information that could help with our investigation to contact police on 101, quoting reference 5220173918."
