Plans submitted in Glastonbury for steel framed building to house animals

A planning application has been submitted to Mendip District Council for a new building to house animals in Glastonbury.

The application for the erection of a steel framed building to house animals at Top Spot, Street Road, Glastonbury, has been made by Marjorie Bisgrove.

If approved, the building - which would be near to the A39 and opposite Premier Inn - would be used for winter housing to help with the animals' health and welfare.

The site is currently a small concrete pad used for animal feed, and the new building would be made of concrete panels and wooden cladding with a green metal roof.

Other planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:

Woodland beech trees overhanging the tennis court - prune the lower laterals by up to but not exceeding 4m is wanted at Tor Side, Coursing Batch, Glastonbury.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (ventilation system), on planning consent 2018/2640/FUL at the Village Store, Church Lane, Baltonsborough, has been made by Mrs Naomi Giaretta.

Planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been decided this week by Mendip District Council include:

Works to trees under a Tree Preservation Order T1 - oak - reduce crown size to 60ft x 25ft, T2 - ash - fell at Windmill Hill House, Windmill Hill Road, Glastonbury, by Miss Sorita Rankine have been approved.

Creation of a new vehicular access to agricultural buildings (part retrospective) on land at Lottisham Lane, Lottisham, by Mrs D Board has been approved.

Demolish existing porch and replace with a porch at Old South View, Castle Cary Road, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Mr John Mullins has been approved.

Approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (external facing materials), 4 (walling materials), 5 (landscape scheme) and 6 (arboricultural impact assessment, tree protection plan, and arboricultural method statement) on planning consent 2017/1402/FUL at The Old Garden, 3B Wells Road, Glastonbury, by Mr and Mrs Wade has been approved.
