Groundworks at Herbies Field in Glastonbury, close to Northload Bridge on the B3151, have got underway.

Glastonbury Town Council purchased this field to provide additional parking to support the various events that take place annually in and around the town.

Part of the surface is to be temporarily removed, a membrane installed, covered in stone and then the soil replaced over the stone, which will allow the regrowth of the grass again.

These works are being funded by the Towns Deal Fund which acknowledged that the provision of event parking supports the numerous occasions that rely on large numbers of visitors to Glastonbury, such as the Frost Fayre, carnival, Beltane celebrations and Extravaganza.
