Brooks Road in Street will be closed overnight for four nights later this month to allow fibre cabling works to take place.

Somerset Council has issued a temporary road closure order for the stretch between Stone Hill and Brookfield Way, with the closure covering 321 metres of road.

The work will be carried out by Openreach and is expected to run from Sunday 26 May to Thursday 30 May, with the road shut each night between 6pm and 6am.

The closure is being put in place to enable essential fibre installation, and an official diversion route will be in place throughout the works.

The order comes into effect on 22 May and will remain in force for up to 18 months, although the work itself is only scheduled for four nights. A spokesperson said the closure is necessary for safety while the work is carried out.

Residents and drivers are advised to plan ahead and check the official diversion at One.Network, where more details are available. Anyone needing further information can contact Sunbelt Rentals on 0370 050 0792, quoting reference number ttro500609E.
