Residents of Glastonbury are set to benefit from improved access to advice services, thanks to a new initiative by Citizens Advice Mendip.

A brand-new kiosk has been installed in Glastonbury Library as part of a wider rollout, aiming to assist those without internet access or phones to reach out to advisers for guidance and support.

The straightforward-to-use kiosk provides free direct access to a local adviser via a built-in phone or email, without dialling a number or navigating complex online systems. Alternatively, users can access the Citizens Advice national website for further information.

The kiosk, located within the library's public area, is operational Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. Its presence serves as a constant reminder to community members that help is readily available.

Citizens Advice Mendip's Operations Manager, Faith Guest said, "We are introducing this service to reach out to those people in the community, maybe some of whom used to rely on our old drop-in sessions, who are vulnerable and may not be able to use the phone or the internet to contact us.

"The new kiosks offer a simple way of contacting us. We're not a faceless call centre – many of our advisers have been working in the local area for many years!"

In addition to Glastonbury, kiosks have also been set up in Wells, Street, Shepton and Frome.
