Mendip Ramblers invite you to explore the beautiful countryside this Spring

At last Spring has brought longer days and mainly warmer weather. Ideal for walking; less mud, less to carry, and lots of sunshine - if we're lucky! Each week Mendip Ramblers are out and about, with a range of guided walks on offer. Some are challenging walks but not all. Some are for those who like to stroll towards a tea shop! As usual our Working Party group has been out, checking routes and carrying out repairs and improvements.

Sometimes we venture further afield. Recently a large number of members enjoyed a walking trip based in Exmouth; they were very lucky with the weather, there was scenic walking and social activities were on offer. What's not to like! Others explored the little known England Coast Path near Watchet.

But where better to walk regularly than in the Mendip area - its varied scenery means that there are opportunities for all walkers to enjoy the countryside. That "right to roam" legislation is important for all of us, not just seasoned walkers ( at the moment in England only 8% of the land is legally accessible) so all of us who use footpaths in towns, villages and countryside are doing something important, even if you're not a Rambler!

Plans for our annual Walking Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend, based in Wells, are taking shape. New walkers, and old ones, are always welcome. So why not take a look at what's on offer on our website - www.mendipramblers.co.uk
