Glastonbury Nub News is proud to announce that Melhuish & Saunders will become our primary sponsor. This will enable Nub News to produce the latest news and opinion from our beautiful town.

Melhuish & Saunders, or Mellies as it is affectionately known locally, has built up an excellent reputation as a high quality building contractor since it was established in 1923.

This family-owned business was originally located in Wells and moved to Glastonbury in 2009 - based in Landmark House, an award-winning building in its own right, constructed by the company to create a new head office and which also provides premises for a number of other organisations.

The company prides itself on working as a team and ensuring that every project it works on is completed to a high standard of finish, within budget and, most importantly of all, to the client's satisfaction.

The company has demonstrated continued core growth and sustainability, carrying out projects with contract values ranging between £100,000 and £5 million.

Darryl Mitchard, managing director, is keen to support a free, independent local news service like Nub News.

He said: "Our business covers a wide area of the South West region, however we are proud of our roots and happy to support the local community.

"We currently link with a number of local charities and Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. As a Glastonbury-based company, we are keen to support Nub News because it gives a voice back to the local community."

Melhuish & Saunders, which employs 16 people and numerous subcontractors who all support the company vision, believes commitment to high standards, teamwork and exceptional client satisfaction are key to a successful business.

Darryl said: "We are the greatest building contractor in the South West and we are going from strength to strength with vision and passion, and full commitment for what we do."

Nub News CEO, Karl Hancock, said: "Melhuish & Saunders is an ideal partner to work with because, like us, the local community is really important to how it operates.

"Without companies like Melhuish & Saunders, we wouldn't be able to survive. This sponsorship enable us to provide a news and what's on service without the annoying Google Ads, pop-up surveys and clickbait.

"We also provide classifieds, property, jobs and live travel. Soon, we will be offering sports, obituaries and more as we grow."

Glastonbury Nub News is unique in that it lets you self-publish using the "Nub It" buttons found on the home page for news and what's on page for event listings.
