Man to appear in court over fatal collision in Street

A 30-year-old man has been summoned to South Somerset Magistrates' Court in connection with a tragic collision on Green Lane Avenue, Street last year, which resulted in the death of an 83-year-old woman.

The incident occurred on Thursday, March 16 2023 and involved a pedestrian and a Transit van.

The man faces multiple charges related to the incident, including causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving, causing death by driving without a licence, causing death by driving without insurance, and possession of a class B drug (cannabis).

He has been sent a postal requisition to appear in court on Wednesday, 5 June.
