Man arrested after dispersal order breach in Glastonbury town centre

A man has been arrested in Glastonbury after breaching a dispersal order issued in response to reports of anti-social behaviour and public disorder in the town centre.
Police introduced a Section 34 dispersal order earlier today (June 5th), giving officers and PCSOs the power to direct individuals to leave the area and not return for a set period of time.
Two men were issued with dispersal notices under the order — but one returned to the town centre shortly afterwards and was arrested by officers from the Glastonbury Neighbourhood Team.
He was taken to a police station, where further enquiries are ongoing.
Police say dispersal orders are used to help manage ongoing anti-social behaviour and reduce disruption to the community.
