A nursing home in Glastonbury has raised £426 for a cancer charity.
Staff at St Benedicts Nursing Home hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning for residents and their families, raising money through the sale of teas, coffees and homemade cakes.
A raffle, with prizes donated by staff and families, helped boost the fundraising total.
Manager Ann Barclay said: "Here at St Benedicts, our amazing staff members are passionate about supporting charities and regularly host fundraisers for causes close to our hearts.
"This type of event can help support the wellbeing of our dementia residents as they help provide a sense of purpose, emotional stimulation and social interaction. Our residents' family members are always so supportive – generously donating to our raffle, as well as creating an array of baked goods for all to enjoy.
"There's really no better way to bring people together than through great coffee and cake, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who made this fundraiser such a success."
The team at St Benedicts have been busy hosting events and activities for their residents including live music performances, quizzes and arts and crafts sessions. There are many activities planned for the weeks ahead, including a visit from Owl Obsession, a bird of prey group that provides hands-on owl experiences, a disco and a live performance from local rock and roll entertainer Danny Jukebox.
