Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from the driver of the vehicle reporting a fire in the rear compartment of the lorry at the above location.

Fire control promptly mobilised one fire appliance from Martock and one fire appliance from Yeovil to this incident.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed a fire in the rear compartment of a refuge lorry. Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet to extinguishing the fire.

The crew extinguished the fire and continued to dampen down the area and scan for hot spots using the thermal imaging camera.
