Volunteers from Glastonbury Friends of the Earth, Extinction Rebellion and Sustrans met yesterday (June 28) at Tin Bridge Roundabout in the town to clear encroaching vegetation off the cycle track.
The brambles and nettles had crept a metre over the track way, endangering cycle tyres and passing space.
All the work was done by hand. No herbicides are used in this process.
A spokesperson said: "For the nature lover you get a close up view of flowers and butterflies.
"We volunteer to give up a little time for the good of cyclists. As we know, after lockdown cycling is a safe form of transport, on appropriate paths especially, and carbon free.
"If you'd like to join us, contact [email protected] or put a message on our Facebook page - Glastonbury Friends of the Earth. It's great exercise with friendly people."
