Organisers of this years' Royal Bath & West Show (30th May-1st June) are putting the finishing touches to a packed three-day programme, following the recent announcement that His Majesty King Charles III is the new patron of the Royal Bath & West of England Society.
People visit the show for many reasons but what they all have in common is the wish to have a great day out, see some of their favourite attractions, and possibly find some new interests. Regular favourites have been enhanced in recent years to retain visitors' interest, such as the Horticulture Village which underwent a transformation last year. It returns this year with another Pop-Up Gardens Competition, this time focusing on sensory awareness and sustainable living. David Domoney of ITV's 'Love Your Garden' will be available to answer horticulture questions, alongside fruit and vegetable growing expert Jess Gough (Happy Smalholding) and Lara from the 'Skool Beanz' children's gardening club.
The Woodland and Countryside Arena also returns with a repeat performance from the Dorset Axemen, a show favourite.
For foodies, The Great British Kitchen will this year welcome Rachel Khoo, Clodagh McKenna, Rosemary Shrager and Andy Clarke to the stage, promising a wide variety of dishes to recreate at home.
The new attraction for 2024 is the 'Bark & West'. Reflecting the increase in pet ownership in recent years it is dedicated to pets, and will feature trade stands, an agility ring, and displays from show favourites Pawsability Dog Agility.
As ever there will be plenty of entertainment in the main ring, including the Pony Club Games and the Jamie Squibb Freestyle motorbike displays; whilst the Sports Village and Lakeside Farm will have plenty of activities for the whole family to get involved in. There will also be a vintage funfair, and of course a trip around the showground on the Bath & West train!
With all this and much more besides, including an appearance from Love Island's Farmer Will on Saturday and a performance from The Wurzels on Thursday, the Royal Bath & West Show is a great value day out. Add-ons including VIP upgrades, VIP Parking, exclusive merchandise, and tickets to the bus service from Wells and Shepton Mallet are also now available, to make this years' visit the best ever.
