Local charity We Hear You (WHY) are hosting a virtual Junior Bake Off competition until April 18.

Participants are invited to get their bake on and create something to impress the WHY judges, who include local caterer and foodie expert Keren Hayden of Events Horizon.

Registration costs £7.50, which includes a Bake Off medal, certificate and postage, with all proceeds doing towards WHY's free professional counselling service for children and adults affected by cancer and life threatening conditions.

Fundraising officer Helen White said: "We really enjoyed our World Book Day competition, so we thought we'd give talented youngsters another reason to get creative this Easter holiday.

"Sadly we can't actually taste everyone's entries, but we look forward to seeing what you make and will be awarding prizes for our favourites.

"It feels fantastic to be filling up our calendar of fundraising events for 2021 as we emerge from a tricky year and we're delighted to see lots of you signing up for the Bake Off.

"As it's a virtual event the sky's the limit so keep those registrations coming and raise lots of money for our brilliant and much-needed service."

Keren Hayden's message for the baking heroes of the future is "Bake what you love and it will always be wonderful."
