Following an inspection conducted on 13 June 2023, Jabberwocky Children's Nursery, situated on Leigh Road, Street, has maintained its 'Good' rating.

The inspection report highlighted various strengths, including a nurturing environment, the quality of education, and effective leadership and management.

The report detailed, "Children benefit from a thoughtfully planned curriculum, which places high priority on maximising children's learning through their play." It also emphasised the role of the passionate management team in creating a positive environment conducive to both staff and children's growth.

Another point of praise in the report was the nursery's community engagement. Children at the nursery grow their own fruits and vegetables and care for a variety of animals, an initiative that was highlighted for helping the children develop their understanding of the world.

Physical development is also given focus at Jabberwocky, with the report noting how children are encouraged to participate in physical activities such as walks to the forest school. "Children demonstrate increasing levels of physical skill as they partake in the abundance of challenging experiences on offer," the report said.

However, the report also identified areas that require improvement. One point was the inconsistent staff interactions that limited some children's learning experiences. The report also called for more thorough information-sharing with parents about the nursery's curriculum and their child's learning progression.

In terms of safeguarding, the nursery's arrangements were deemed effective, with staff demonstrating secure knowledge of correct procedures to follow if they had concerns about a child's safety or well-being.

Overall, the report reaffirmed the 'Good' rating of the Jabberwocky Children's Nursery, noting its strengths and improvement areas.

The nursery continues to contribute positively to the local community with its commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
