Housebuilder launches new £10,000 community fund

Communities across the South West of England are being made aware of a £10,000 funding pot launched by a national housebuilder.
Miller Homes has announced that its national Community Fund initiative will return for applications from September, and, for the first time, will be made available in its newest region – Miller Homes South West – which launched recently.
The scheme enables any group to apply for between £250 and £2,000 of funding, with Miller Homes putting particular focus on groups who have a cause linked to education, wellbeing, the environment and sport.
Each of the housebuilder's 11 trading regions have an annual pot of £10,000 to share among successful applicants, with the Community Fund running twice a year. The housebuilder has so far awarded more than £344,000 to applicants across the country.
David Greengrass, head of sales for Miller Homes South West, said: "Miller Homes' Community Fund initiative has supported hundreds of community-led projects since its inception in 2022 and we are very proud to be able to bring that same opportunity to groups across the south west with the launch of the scheme in our region.
"Miller Homes South West will have the chance to provide £10,000 of funding to successful applicants of the Community Fund over the course of the scheme's next two rounds, to hopefully transform some of the best and most deserving groups, projects and causes throughout this part of the country.
"We are all looking forward to receiving applications from September and being able to announce the recipients of our inaugural Community Fund pot later this year."
Applications for this round of the Community Fund will close on Wednesday, 15 October.
Miller Homes South West has recently been launched as the national developer's 11th and newest trading region, as part of the acquisition of St Modwen Homes by Miller Homes.
The housing firm is currently building new homes at developments in Newport, Swansea and Weston-super-Mare, with construction work at a new development in Yatton set to shortly begin.
