House prices rise by smallest increase on record

The average asking price for a UK home rose by just £14 in February, according to the property website Rightmove - the lowest increase since its records began in 2001.

Rightmove say that properties in Glastonbury had an overall average price of £310,653 over the last year.

The majority of sales in Glastonbury during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £290,875. Detached properties sold for an average of £460,266, with flats fetching £156,070.

Overall, sold prices in Glastonbury over the last year were 22% up on the previous year and 20% up on the 2020 peak of £258,433.

Across the Brue, in Street, properties had an average price of £245,688 over the last year.

The majority of sales in Street during the last year were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £266,491. Terraced properties sold for an average of £227,983, with flats fetching £132,781.

Overall, sold prices in Street over the last year were 6% down on the previous year and 5% down on the 2020 peak of £258,642.

According to Rightmove the average asking price for a home across the UK is now £362,452.
