Have your say on bike rack locations in Glastonbury

Mendip District Council is asking residents for their thoughts on proposed locations for new bike racks across the district.

A consultation is now open until 4 November 2022 - have your say here: https://forms.office.com/r/vV5aigAbTa

After requests from residents for safe places to lock up bikes, the Council applied for money from Somerset County Council's public health fund and were fortunate to receive £50k to spend on the project.

The new bike racks, to be placed primarily on local authority land, will feature a unique design. They will complement the multi-user path project and encourage more cycling in the district.

Cllr Liz Leyshon, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services and Projects, said: "We know that being able to secure bikes safely and conveniently is a priority for many. It's important that residents tell us the best locations, so communities have easy access to secure lock up spots when exploring our district.

"We have proposed locations in Frome, Glastonbury, Mells, Shepton Mallet, Street and Wells, so please let us know your thoughts before the deadline on 4 November."
