This 2020 Godney Gathering has been postponed until later in the year due to the coronavirus crisis, but the headline acts have committed to the new dates.

Now the event will take place on Friday and Saturday September 25 and 26, and the Lightning Seeds, The Coral, Judge Jules Live and British Sea Power have all confirmed they will be available for the new dates.

In a statement released this morning (March 30), the organisers said: "This July was supposed to be a celebration.

"A celebration from us, to you, for 10 years of Godney, but we have all had our lives turned upside down, and we need to face the reality that Godney 2020 will have to be postponed.

"We've been closely monitoring this situation, working behind the scenes to still bring you Godney 2020 this July.

"Initially, everything was a go but over the past few days we have taken advice from the UK government, Public Health England and local licensing bodies, and while we may be getting back to normal in July, we didn't feel comfortable with putting 4,999 of you in a field so soon. A fully revised lined up will be published shortly.

"Postponing is never ideal, we know that. You've make plans for Godney and we apologise for the inconvenience.

"We're a small event, and we work around the clock every year on bringing you the best possible festival, pouring blood, sweat and tears into it.

"This is not a decision we have made lightly, but the health and safety of each and every one of you is more important than anything else.

"This decision wasn't easy, it puts our ability to put Godney on in the balance. The truth is that a cancellation would mean the end of Godney, and anything other than success this September would post serious questions for 2021.

"We ask you to keep hold of your tickets. If you know you can't make the new dates, please feel free to resell your ticket or give it away.

"Further information on reselling your tickets will be provided soon.

"At this time, we want to thank you for understanding. Please accept out apologies in advance for any delay in answering your questions.

"All of our team are volunteers, and many are maintaining their full-time employment from home or as key workers.

"It is a very difficult time for all of us right now. We'd also like to extend our thanks to Mike and Bridget at Garslade Farm for their unwavering support and commitment to seeing Godney return to their fields this September."
