Glastonbury van parking hotspots face new restrictions
By Laura Linham 23rd Jul 2026
Seven roads in Glastonbury could be hit with new parking and waiting restrictions under plans being consulted on by Somerset Council.
Beckery Road, Beckery New Road, Morland Road, Wells Road, The Roman Way, Tor View Avenue and Hill Head are all included in the proposal, which covers stopping, waiting, loading, unloading and on-street parking.
Several of the roads named in the order are well-known locally as regular stopping points for vans and caravans.
Somerset Council says the changes are intended to avoid danger to people or traffic using the roads, prevent the likelihood of danger arising, or preserve or improve the amenities of the area.
Residents, businesses and drivers can make representations or object to the proposed order. Objections must be made in writing, must state the grounds on which they are being made, and must quote reference number ET16072026.
Responses can be sent to Somerset Council, Traffic Management, B2 West, County Hall, Taunton, TA1 4DY, or emailed to [email protected]. Anyone unable to access the online documents can contact Somerset Council on 0300 123 2224.
