The Glastonbury Town Crier captured this stunning image of Comet Neowise last night (July 19).

David Greenway took the shot on the road between Butleigh and Kingweston, and it was his third time out trying to get a photo on the comet.

He said: "I finally spotted Comet Neowise, once it was dark enough.

"It was rather fainter than I was expecting. The picture was taken between 11.30pm and midnight.

"The comet was below and to the right of the Plough. You can just make out the second 'ion tail' to the left of the main tail."

Neowise is one of the brightest comets since Hale-Bopp and can be seen with the naked eye, though generally to see the tail you need to use binoculars.
