A teenage singer songwriter from Glastonbury is releasing his second single this week.
Eighteen-year-old Raffi Maxwell released his first single, Be, earlier this summer and uploaded it to BBC Introducing, where it caught the attention of BBC radio producers. Be was named as Upload of the Week, Raffi was invited to BBC Introducing in Cornwall for an interview, and the single was played throughout the week across the South West.
Raffi was described as a "future superstar" by Bath Radio presenter Ollie Lewis, during a recent appearance on his show, and he is hoping to build on the success of his first single and reach and even bigger audience with his second single Killin' Me which is set to be released on Friday, September 2.
On his website Raffi says: "Music has always been a huge part of my life. From when I was very young I've always loved to perform and sing for the people around me. Singing and writing songs for me is the best outlet for my emotions (so I don't have to talk about them), it's an easier way to lay down self-discipline, as well as a way to get to know myself better because sometimes in life things get so busy you forget to check in with your own mental health which I think is the most important thing!"
Raffi has also been singing live, and performed in a small tent at the Glastonbury Festival. He has worked with local media moguls Oska Zaky and Harry Steele, of Unthnkable, who directed and shot the music video for Be, while the Killin' me video will be recorded in early September.
