Glastonbury is on the lookout for an entrepreneurial and skilled Visitor Experience Manager to elevate the town's tourism and information services.

This key role involves leading a team of staff and volunteers to promote Glastonbury, establish high-quality standards for visitor experiences, and increase revenue.

The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of both the Glastonbury Information Centre and the Tribunal building. This includes overseeing retail operations, enhancing the museum in the Tribunal Building, and developing an events space. The role demands excellent IT skills for managing the Information Centre's website, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with other visitor attractions in the town.

Flexibility is crucial for this position as it may involve weekend work and evening events. The new manager will be instrumental in motivating a team, managing staff rotas, and ensuring a high standard of service in both the Information Centre and the Tribunal building.

A significant part of the role will be leading the front-of-house team to ensure that visitors have an exceptional and enjoyable experience. The manager will also be responsible for managing an annual budget, increasing visitor numbers and income, and overseeing a dynamic public events and exhibition programme across both sites.

Candidates interested in this pivotal role are invited to have an informal conversation with the Town Clerk. Applications should include a CV and covering letter, and can be submitted via email to [email protected] or by post to Conor Ogilvie-Davidson at the Town Hall on Magdalene Street.

Applications are due by 5 pm on Wednesday, 6 December 2023. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews on Thursday, 14 December 2023. The role is set to commence in January 2024, with a salary ranging from £29,269 to £32,076 per year.
