The streets of Glastonbury should soon be brighter at night as a project to replace lots of the town's streetlights takes place next week.
In total, 40 streetlight units will be updated next week by Somerset Highways, mainly in the west of the town.
From Monday (October 5) to Wednesday (October 7), three streetlights will be replaced on the link road to Beckery Roundabout, three will be upgraded in Beckery Road, three in Park Farm Road, five in Dyehouse Lane, one in The Mound and one in Porchestall Drove.
From Tuesday (October 6) to Thursday (October 8), three streetlights will be replaced in the link road between the bypass and Wells Road.
Between Wednesday and Friday (October 9), 11 streetlights will be upgraded in Sedgemoor Way, seven will be replaced in Benedict Street and three will be renewed in Garvins Way.
Other roadworks scheduled to take place in Glastonbury this week include:
Bristol Water's work to repair a burst main in Austin Road is due to continue until October 16, as temporary works are also needed to allow the company to access the 15-inch main without cutting off the water supply to 4,000 residents.
The month-long permit for scaffolding at 33 High Street is set to remain in place until October 21.
