A fish and chip shop in Glastonbury has pledged to provide free meals for children who need them this half-term.

R&T Fish Bar in King Street will be providing a variety of homemade meals, not just fish and chips, to families in need of them, in response to the campaign by Premier League footballer Marcus Rashford.

John Holdsworth from R&Ts told Glastonbury Nub News: "This week I am offering portions of sausage, mash, peas and gravy, and spaghetti Bolognese my way with pasta shells not spaghetti and made with onions, garlic and some carrots.

"Also I will make some portions of hunter's chicken, which is chunky chicken breasts cooked and seasoned first, then wrapped in bacon with the sauce.

"All families will have to do is put them in the oven to warm through and add whatever they have in their freezer or fridge to them. These are all homemade.

"This is something that I've always wanted to offer for the members of the community that are in need.

"I'm not doing this for financial gain or publicity, I don't mind who you are, I would not see a parent or child go without food for survival during half-term or during the year."

All families have to do is send a message through R&Ts' Facebook page of what they would like and it will be made for picking up.
