A fire crew from Glastonbury was among three teams that tackled a tractor and trailer blaze near Wedmore this morning (July 28).

Just after 11.15am, fire appliances from Cheddar, Glastonbury and Street were mobilised to a report of a tractor on fire between Castle Lane and Wells Way in Heath House, near Wedmore.

On arrival at the scene fire crews confirmed the tractor was well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers, a compressed air foam jet and a thermal image camera to check for hotspots.

The fire also involved the spreader trailer attached to the tractor. The cause of the blaze was accidental.
